Growing up, the Canada Day long weekend meant driving up to the cottage and singing O Canada on the dock to loons. These days, it means a chance to catch up on laundry and cleaning out my email inbox.

Even though I’ll be hanging out around my house this weekend, I plan on fitting in some of the incredible events in this region.

So, if you aren’t heading out of town either, I’ve got you covered.

And finally, Canada Day may be midweek this year, but celebrations won’t be dampened. uWaterloo will host its 30th annual Canada Day celebrations at Columbia Lake… and in Downtown Kitchener, Canada’s own Sloan will take the stage before fireworks…
