Mumbai, India, February 28th, 2014 – Communitech and the Canadian Digital Media Network (CDMN) have signed a Letter of Intent with the Global Superangels Forum (GSF) of India to build stronger business-to-business relationships between Canadian and Indian technology companies.

Building on a similar model pioneered between the CDMN and the Comite Gestor da Internet in Brazil, the possibilities include an increase in inbound and outbound soft-landing opportunities, strategic partnerships between mid and large-size companies and the twinning of incubator and accelerator programs.

“The Indian market is a huge opportunity for Canadian technology companies, but it can be difficult to enter without on-the-ground experience.” said Kevin Tuer, Managing Director of the Canadian Digital Media Network. “We have recently helped two companies enter the Indian market through our Soft Landing program, but having a partner the caliber of GSF on the ground will increase the value of these opportunities exponentially.”

“Communitech can provide the same value to Indian companies looking to access the North American market.” added Iain Klugman, CEO of Communitech. “We have the necessary infrastructure and network to help them understand the North American market, meet potential customers and partners, and potentially invest in the Waterloo Region.”

The Letter of Intent was signed in Mumbai, India, on February 27th by John Baker, Chair of the Board for Communitech, and Rajesh Sawhney, founder of Global Superangels Forum in the presence of his Excellency, the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, during his State Visit to India.
